Technical Overview
What is Cut Wire Shot?
Cut Wire Shot is produced by cutting metallic wire into short, controlled particles with a length close to the wire diameter. This gives the media a uniform size, stable impact energy, and low breakdown during repeated blasting or peening cycles.
For shot peening, cut wire particles can be rounded or conditioned to remove sharp edges and help protect the treated parts. Standard steel cut wire is used for general peening and selected blasting work, while HD Cut Wire is designed for demanding applications where durability, hardness stability, and process consistency matter more.
HD Cut Wire Benefits
Benefits of HD Cut Wire Shot
HD Cut Wire is designed for demanding shot-peening operations where media life, hardness stability, and process consistency directly affect operating cost.
Cost Efficiency
Improved durability helps reduce media replacement frequency and supports a lower cost per treated part over long production cycles.
Lower Waste Output
Low breakage means less dust, less waste, and a more stable operating mix inside the blasting or peening system.
Stable Quality
Controlled particle size and homogeneous hardness help deliver repeatable peening intensity and consistent surface treatment results.
